The Les Paul Standard is the classic, flagship model for Gibson Guitars. As the iconic design creeps closer to its 70^th birthday, Gibson have quite fittingly taken it back to its roots. The ‘50s Les Paul Standard is the true essence of Lester Polfus’ definitive instrument, down to the finest detail.

Body & Neck

The guitar is made with the classic formula that the Les Paul is known for. The solid Mahogany body is topped with Maple and that jaw-dropping Gold Top finish. This classic combo gives you an undeniably beautiful aesthetic, not to mention beautiful sustain, weighty lows and a timeless top-end sparkle.

In keeping with tradition, the neck is also Mahogany, in this case using a rounded ‘50s-style profile. Combined with a Rosewood fingerboard and Trapezoid inlays, it feels, looks and sounds every bit as classic as you’d expect.

Hardware & Electronics

As the name suggest, this model comes equipped with dual P90s, as the first production Les Pauls did. These particular P90 pickups are loaded with Alnico V magnets, providing a hotter output than the originals. While these pickups offer the sweet, woody tones that put the Les Paul on the map, the hotter signal is perfectly complemented by just about any kind of overdrive.

The hardware has been carefully selected to echo the classic Les Paul blueprint. Vintage Deluxe tuners & Amber Top Hat knobs are among the notable features, with Nickel plating and luxurious binding perfectly tells the story of an iconic instrument.
