Dedicated to Excellence with a Commitment to Craft

A Brief History

Eastman Guitars, a name that has become synonymous with quality and craftsmanship, has its roots deeply embedded in a rich tradition of fine instrument making. The company was founded in 1992 by Qian Ni, a young Chinese flute player who came to the United States to study music. His passion for music and dedication to craftsmanship led him to start Eastman Strings, initially focusing on violins and other orchestral string instruments.

Qian Ni's vision was to create high-quality instruments accessible to musicians at all levels. Over time, the company expanded its product line to include a wide range of string instruments, including guitars. Today, Eastman Guitars is renowned for its meticulously handcrafted acoustic and electric guitars, celebrated by musicians around the world.

Craftsmanship and Quality

What sets Eastman Guitars apart from many other manufacturers is their unwavering commitment to traditional craftsmanship. Each guitar is handmade, with a focus on using high-quality materials and time-honoured construction techniques. This dedication to detail ensures that every Eastman guitar is not only visually stunning but also acoustically exceptional.

The luthiers at Eastman are skilled artisans who bring years of experience and a deep understanding of musical instruments to their work. They meticulously select tonewoods, carve tops, backs, and necks by hand, and apply finishes with precision. This hands-on approach allows Eastman to maintain a high level of quality and consistency across their product line.

Acoustic Guitars

Eastman’s acoustic guitars are particularly revered for their rich, warm tones and beautiful craftsmanship. Models like the E2D and E8D are favourites among acoustic players, offering exceptional sound and playability. These guitars often feature solid wood construction, with tops made from spruce or cedar and backs and sides crafted from mahogany or rosewood. The attention to detail in bracing, binding, and finishing ensures that each guitar not only sounds great but also looks exquisite.

Electric Guitars

In addition to their acoustic line, Eastman also produces a range of electric guitars that have garnered significant attention. The T64 guitars, for example, combine classic design elements with modern playability. These guitars often feature high-quality pickups, intricate inlays, and flawless finishes, making them a favourite among professional musicians and enthusiasts alike.

Eastman's electric guitars are known for their versatility and tonal range. Whether you're playing jazz, blues, rock, or country, there's an Eastman electric guitar that can deliver the sound you need with precision and style.

Commitment to Sustainability

Eastman Guitars is also committed to sustainability and responsible sourcing of materials. They strive to use woods from sustainable sources and implement eco-friendly practices in their workshops. This commitment not only ensures the longevity of their craft but also demonstrates their dedication to preserving the environment for future generations of musicians.

Eastman Guitars stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of traditional craftsmanship in the modern world. Their instruments are a blend of history, artistry, and innovation, making them a favorite among musicians who appreciate quality and authenticity. Whether you're a professional musician or an amateur enthusiast, an Eastman guitar promises a playing experience that is both inspiring and rewarding.

In a market crowded with mass-produced instruments, Eastman Guitars offers something truly special: a connection to the rich tradition of handmade craftsmanship and a promise of exceptional quality. With each strum of an Eastman guitar, you're not just making music; you're becoming a part of a legacy of excellence.
