Classic Sounds are Coming Our Way

Attention, pedal aficionados and seekers of saucy sounds. We're very happy indeed to announce that the legendary Way Huge effects pedals are coming soon to Musicmaker. Known for their unique designs, exceptional build quality, and, most importantly, their incredible tones, Way Huge pedals are a must-have for any serious pedal pesterer. Let's have a quick look at the history of this iconic brand and highlight a few of their bad ass effects pedals.

A Brief History of Way Huge

Way Huge was founded in 1992 by Jeorge Tripps, a man whose vision for innovative and robust effects pedals quickly garnered a cult following. Initially operated out of Tripps' apartment, Way Huge gained a reputation for its quirky designs and superior sound quality. The company's early pedals, like the Red Llama Overdrive and the Swollen Pickle Fuzz, became instant classics among guitarists seeking to push their sonic boundaries.

Despite their success, Way Huge ceased production in 1999, leaving many musicians clamouring for their return. Fortunately, in 2008, the company was revived under the umbrella of Dunlop Manufacturing, allowing a new generation of guitarists to experience the magic of Way Huge pedals.

Iconic Way Huge Pedals

Swollen Pickle Jumbo Fuzz

The Swollen Pickle Jumbo Fuzz is perhaps the most famous pedal in the Way Huge lineup. This fuzz pedal is revered for its ability to produce everything from smooth, creamy fuzz to intense, high-gain distortion. The Swollen Pickle features a comprehensive set of controls, including Loudness, Sustain, Filter, Scoop, and Crunch, allowing you to dial in a wide range of fuzz tones. Whether you're looking for a vintage '60s fuzz or a modern, aggressive sound, the Swollen Pickle has you covered.

Red Llama Overdrive

The Red Llama Overdrive is another classic from Way Huge. Released as their first production pedal in 1992, the Red Llama quickly became known for its warm, harmonically rich overdrive that emulates the sound of a cranked tube amp. The pedal's simple controls—Volume and Drive—make it easy to use, while its touch-sensitive response ensures that your playing dynamics shine through. The Red Llama's versatility makes it suitable for a variety of genres, from blues to rock to punk.

Atreides Weirding Module

For those seeking to venture into uncharted sonic territories, the Atreides Weirding Module is the pedal to explore. Inspired by a vintage 1980 mini synthesizer, the Atreides offers a monophonic effect with layers of sub-octave, envelope filter, phase, and fuzz. This pedal allows for real-time manipulation through dynamic playing and slider adjustments, creating a vast array of unique sounds. Whether you're aiming for growly sub-octave bass lines or swooshing phase shifts, the Atreides Weirding Module provides an endless palette of sonic possibilities.

Why Way Huge?

Way Huge pedals are not just about exceptional sound—they're also built to last. Each pedal is designed with the gigging musician in mind, featuring sturdy enclosures and high-quality components that can withstand the rigours of live performance. The attention to detail in both design and functionality ensures that these pedals deliver reliable performance every time you plug in.
