Sweet Custom Effects Pedals Made Right Here in Dublin

Get in there!

Sure listen! If you've checked any of these articles out at all you'll notice we've a healthy fascination with all things Effects. For which I can take no credit really. Our in-house Overlord of Overdrive and Lieutenant of Low End is in charge, and what a job it is he does.

Mystical he is. Beautiful too.

That said, we've just received a shipment of truly deadly Effects Pedals, which are handmade by a nice man called Cian, right here in Dublin. Moose Electronics have arrived.

Born out of a fascination with Fuzz (sure we've all been there, eh?) Moose began hand soldering pedals in 2009. With a keen ear for delicious noise and one foot in the underground music scene, some sweet, sweet pedals were created. Fast forward 15 years and Moose Electronics artist roster is quite an eclectic mix of sounds from Fontaines D.C. to Primordial to Keith Duffy. All kinds of everything!

We're very pleased to have just received a shipment of these excellent pedals into Musicmaker, so do yourself a favour, buzz in to the shop, and check them out!

Here's a tasty little trio, to peruse in the meantime.

Moose Electronics - Sundrive Overdrive Pedal

Feast your eyes on this little beauty, offering a versatile array of tones that'll whisk you from the bluesy realms of Rory Gallagher to the gritty, earthy vibes of Slomatics and Earth. It's a go-to for delivering those punchy bass riffs too, a personal fave among many. With meticulous tinkering of its components, Moose have struck the perfect balance of full, tight low end, making it a champ with guitars and basses across all tunings. This pedal's your go-to for everything from clean melodies to that sweet medium-gain crunch - truly the swiss army knife of the pedal world! Picture it as a fancy overdrive with Matamp GT120 controls, blending seamlessly with a Mosfet Matamp preamp. And guess what? It's beloved by legends like Chris of Slomatics, Mick of Primordial, and a whole crew from Fontaines DC and The Murder Capital. Each pedal's a work of art, sporting hand-pulled screen prints on vibrant, powder-coated cases. And don't forget, they're all equipped with trusty true bypass and ready to rock with your favourite regulated pedal power supply. Shop HERE.

Moose Electronics Brass Neck Overdrive Pedal

Brass Neck, the pedal designed to serve up a drive that's as flat and vast as the horizon, with just the perfect hint of natural compression thrown in. It's got enough oomph to effortlessly push your favourite amp's front end into overdrive territory. Crafted around two whisper-quiet Opamps and a duo of Germanium diode pairs, this pedal boasts a rainbow of tones at your fingertips. Twist those treble and bass knobs, and you're in for a wild ride through sonic landscapes, all while keeping that cozy valve-like compression vibe intact, thanks to those Germanium diodes. No midrange muddles here! It's all about striking that sweet spot: compression without cramping frequencies, gain without losing clarity, and a midrange punch minus any unwanted honks. Whether it's your everyday sidekick or your secret weapon for those epic solos and choruses, Brass Neck's got your back. And with its EQ muscle, it's not afraid to venture into gritty treble territory or darkening bass vibes. Each pedal rocks true bypass as standard and sips power from your trusty 9V DC supply (negative tip, Boss style). For primo performance, hook it up to a top-notch regulated pedal power supply. Moose Electronics Cosmic Trigger Preamp Pedal

Blending the best features of Traynor TS50 and Acoustic 360 preamps alongside a customised gain stage, the Cosmic Trigger is the culmination of years of tinkering. Inspired by Electrical Audio's bass tones, I experimented with various preamp replicas until I found the perfect blend. The Cosmic Trigger serves multiple purposes, from clean to driven tones, and it's equally at home with bass, guitar, synths, or drums. With its 36 Volts of headroom and gain boost footswitch, it's garnered praise from musicians like Ian MacFarlane and John "Spud" Murphy. From noise rock to groovy vibes, it's a must-have on any pedalboard, adding flair with its unique hand-pulled screen-printed graphics. Shop HERE.
