A Legacy of Craftsmanship, Innovation and Sweet Sounds

This year marks a significant milestone for Taylor Guitars as the renowned guitar maker celebrates its 50th anniversary. Since its inception in 1974, Taylor Guitars has been at the forefront of guitar innovation, known for its meticulous craftsmanship, pioneering spirit, and commitment to quality. To commemorate this golden anniversary, Taylor has released five exquisite limited edition guitars, two of which we currently have in stock in Musicmaker: the Taylor 314ce Limited Edition 50th Anniversary - Torrified Spruce / Sapele - Edgeburst and the Taylor AD14ce-SB 50th Anniversary Limited Edition - Walnut/Spruce - Tobacco Sunburst.

A Brief History of Taylor Guitars

Founded by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug in El Cajon, California, Taylor Guitars began as a small workshop. Bob Taylor's passion for building guitars, combined with Kurt Listug's business acumen, laid the foundation for what would become one of the most respected names in the industry. From its humble beginnings, Taylor Guitars quickly gained a reputation for its innovative designs and commitment to excellence.

One of the key innovations that set Taylor apart was the development of the NT (New Technology) neck, which allowed for more precise neck adjustments and enhanced playability. This breakthrough, along with other innovations like the Expression System® pickup and V-Class™ bracing, has cemented Taylor's position as a leader in acoustic guitar manufacturing.

Over the past five decades, Taylor Guitars has grown into a global brand, with a state-of-the-art factory in California and a second facility in Tecate, Mexico. Despite this growth, the company has remained true to its core values of quality, innovation, and sustainability, ensuring that every guitar that leaves the workshop is a testament to their craftsmanship.
