I need a Priest! I mean.....wait......eh........Effects! Yes! Phew.......
Take this and crank it up, in remembrance of me......
It feels like it's been an age!
How is everybody? Good, yes? Good good. That's nice.
Have you ever noticed how big effects pedals can be? Sometimes it seems as though they are huge....Way Huge..... Sorry. You see where I'm going with this, right?
I also thought I saw a Moose outside, but it turns out it was just an Elk. If I'm honest though, I'm not really sure what the difference is....
But ANYWAY.
Look, it's been a long day so enough of this gibberish.
Take it away my friend.
The Pedals
Moose Electronics Electric Elk Fuzz Pedal
The Moose Electronics Electric Elk fuzz pedal is a boutique guitar effects pedal known for its rich, textured fuzz sound and versatile tonal capabilities. Inspired by various classic vintage Big Muff fuzz pedals, it features both silicon and germanium transistors, allowing users to switch between bright, stable fuzz and warm, vintage tones. The Electric Elk is equipped with intuitive controls, including volume, tone, fuzz and a unique "mids" level knobs, providing a wide range of sonic possibilities for both bass and guitar.
It also has a rugged, durable enclosure, making it suitable for both studio use and live performances. Guitarists appreciate the Electric Elk for its ability to sustain notes indefinitely and add a raw, aggressive edge to their sound. This pedal is often used in genres like rock, blues, and especially high gain alternative music, where its distinctive fuzz can shine.
Moose Electronics is a firm favourite pedal company here in MusicMaker, known for their high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, ensuring that each Electric Elk pedal meets the highest standards. The Electric Elk fuzz pedal has gained a reputation among musicians for its reliability and exceptional sound quality, and more and more it can be found on esteemed pedalboards worldwide.
We run though all it can do with no waffle in just over 5 minutes, we try in on Guitar, Bass and Synth.
Up Next........
Way Huge Smalls Swollen Pickle Fuzz Pedal
The most sought after and corpulent Way Huge pedal is back! The Swollen Pickle MkIII surrenders super high-gain fuzz with copious amounts of smooth low-end to all who dare plug into it.
With a twist of the Sustain control, you’re taken from mild crunch to total Armageddon! The Filter control retains its trademark insane range of heavily band-pass-filtered tones, distinguished by remarkable girth and sizzle, and the Loudness puts out enough volume to clobber any amp. Newly added features include a tone stack Scoop Toggle Switch that elicits classic Swollen Pickle mid-scoop or a flat mid-frequency sweep, and a Crunch Toggle Switch to adjust the compression intensity of the fuzz.
Finally, under the hood, the Swollen Pickle MkIII has two internal mini controls: Voice sets the intensity of the external scoop control from light to heavy mid cut, and Clip varies between two sets of clipping diodes for smooth or opened fuzz sustain. A charter member of the Way Huge line has returned, and just like when it debuted in 1997, it still has 'more fuzz than a moldy peach!'
We run through all of the sounds and settings in under 4 minutes, with no waffle or unnecessary chat, so you can just hear what the effect is doing.
And Finally......
Way Huge Smalls Blue Hippo Analog Chorus Pedal
Featuring the same two-knob layout of speed and depth controls and two-way chorus/vibrato switch for a world of swirling, watery textured and sound, the Way Huge WM61 Smalls Series Blue Hippo Analog Chorus Mini squeezes the original pedal's ocean of tone into a pedalboard-friendly chassis.
An ideal addition for the sound experimentalists and tone sculptors, The Blue Hippo Mini covers modulated ground from lush waves of analog choral deluge to the madcap whirr of a rotary speaker with a surprising breadth of crossover. With its simple Speed and Depth control interface, you can dial in everything from lush tone-widening to full-on rotating speaker modulation madness.
If you want to splash on some thick vibrato goodness, just flip the Vibe switch to give your already aqueous tones a little more texture. The Blue Hippo Chorus is straightforward and no-nonsense-just plug in and dive into the deep end.
We run through all of its sounds and settings in just under 5 minutes, with no awkward chat whatsoever!
Marvellous!
Truly marvellous.
I am left with many fuzzy, fuzzy feelings.
