For many players, the OM (Orchestra Model) body shape represents the perfect balance in an acoustic guitar — comfortable to hold, articulate in voice and beautifully even across all six strings. The Alvarez MF60e Masterworks OM is designed to deliver exactly that. It offers impressive tonal balance, excellent note separation and a refined, accurate response that suits a wide range of playing styles.

Built with a solid AAA Sitka spruce top and solid African mahogany back and sides, the MF60e blends clarity and dynamic headroom with warm, woody midrange depth. The smaller OM body naturally introduces a touch of compression, producing rounded, focused notes with a super-fast response. Alvarez balances this characteristic with a lighter-weight FS6 forward-shifted, scalloped X-brace design, allowing the top to move more freely and generate a more open, resonant projection than many traditional OMs.

The result is an instrument with articulate bass, expressive mids and shimmering trebles that feel connected and controlled. Whether you favour intricate fingerstyle work, alternate tunings or nuanced strumming, the MF60e responds with precision and musicality.

Aesthetically, this model keeps things elegant and timeless. Herringbone purfling adds a vintage-inspired touch, while the natural gloss finish highlights the beautiful grain of the spruce and mahogany. Premium components are used throughout, including an East Indian rosewood fingerboard and headstock fascia, a Bi-Level Indian rosewood bridge, bone nut and saddle, ebony bridge pins and premium MOP inlays. Open-gear tuners complete the traditional look while offering smooth and reliable tuning stability.

The 22-fret African mahogany neck meets the body at the 14th fret, providing a familiar feel and comfortable access further up the fingerboard.

Like all Masterworks models, the MF60e benefits from ATR™ (Advanced Tonal Response) treatment. Through oxygen-controlled curing and thermo-kiln processing, the tonewoods behave more like a mature instrument from day one — offering enhanced stability, quicker response and improved clarity and note separation.

For live performance and recording, the MF60e is fitted with the LR Baggs HiFi system, a premium non-invasive pickup design using dual bridge plate sensors. It delivers exceptional balance, natural dynamics and strong feedback resistance, making it a dependable plug-and-play solution.

The guitar ships with Alvarez’s durable AFC30 Flexicase, providing lightweight protection for transport and storage.
