Epiphone ES-345, Tri-Burst, Exclusive Collection
Classic semi-hollow elegance with expanded tonal control
The Epiphone ES-345 in Tri-Burst, from the Exclusive Collection, is a beautifully realised tribute to one of Gibson’s most sophisticated semi-hollow designs. First introduced in 1959 as the upscale sibling to the ES-335, the ES-345 quickly earned its place as a favourite among players who wanted classic semi-hollow tone with extra refinement, visual flair and tonal flexibility.
This Inspired by Gibson version captures everything that makes the ES-345 so special while keeping it accessible to modern players. The body is crafted from 5-ply layered maple with a solid maple centre block, delivering the perfect balance between hollowbody resonance and solidbody sustain. This construction provides excellent feedback resistance at higher volumes while retaining that airy, open character semi-hollows are loved for — truly the best of both worlds.
Finished in a stunning gloss Tri-Burst, the body is accented with multi-ply binding on the top and single-ply binding on the back, giving it a refined, vintage-correct appearance. The mahogany neck features a comfortable Rounded C profile, offering a reassuring feel that suits both chord work and expressive lead playing. Topped with a bound laurel fingerboard, the neck hosts 22 medium jumbo frets and a 12” radius, making it equally comfortable for first-position jazz chords or wide, bluesy bends higher up the neck.
Visually, the ES-345 sets itself apart with its iconic pearloid split parallelogram inlays, one of the defining features that distinguish it from the ES-335, along with its elegant gold hardware. A 60s Kalamazoo-style headstock completes the vintage look, adorned with a mother-of-pearl Epiphone logo and Gibson Crown inlay for a touch of classic class.
Hardware is rock solid throughout. An Epiphone LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece are anchored directly into the maple centre block, enhancing sustain, tuning stability and precise intonation. At the headstock end, a Graph Tech® nut reduces friction for smoother tuning, paired with gold Epiphone Deluxe tuners featuring vintage-style Keystone buttons.
Electronically, the ES-345 offers far more than just classic semi-hollow tones. A pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO™ humbuckers deliver warm cleans, smooth blues tones and rich, articulate overdrive. Independent volume and tone controls for each pickup, a three-way selector switch, and a 6-position mono Varitone switch open up a wide palette of tonal options — from full and woody to tight, focused and cutting — making this one of the most versatile semi-hollows in the lineup.
Supplied with a premium gig bag, the Epiphone ES-345 in Tri-Burst is a stunning blend of vintage sophistication, modern reliability and tonal flexibility. It’s a serious instrument for players who appreciate history, style and sound — and exactly the kind of guitar we’re proud to offer here at Musicmaker.
