Gibson have yet again refined the design that proved to be their most popular acoustic. Since the introduction of the J-45 in 1942, Gibson have used a mahogany back and sides with a beautiful Sitka spruce top. The rounded shoulder design offers a broad sound with wonderful projection, incredibly responsive in any style.

The J-45's timeless curves and rosewood fretboard ensure an easy playing experience. Unlike some of Gibson's other acoustics, this guitar features a slim taper neck profile, so you'll be able to comfortably play for long periods of time. Part of the J-45's reputation is its iconic look; the alluring vintage sunburst finish and 'tortoise teardrop' pickguard blend perfectly.

This year, Gibson have chosen rosewood as their bridge material, adding to its excellent sustain. Tusq is used for both the nut and the saddle for extra tonal consistency and resilience, and the Grover Rotomatic tuners provide the excellent tuning stability. Finally, the 2019 J-45 features the LR Baggs VTC pickup system. This pickup uniquely aims to mirror the movement of the guitar rather than the attack of the strings, and it's designed to capture the most detailed subtleties of your playing style.
