Lag Guitars Tramontane 118 Dreadnought
Warm cedar voice with confident dreadnought power
The Lâg Tramontane T118 Dreadnought stands out in its class thanks to premium tonewoods, refined craftsmanship and a beautifully balanced voice. Designed for players who want depth, projection and warmth without stepping into boutique price territory, the T118 delivers serious performance wrapped in elegant simplicity.
At the heart of this model is a solid red cedar top, prized for its naturally warm, mellow and expressive tonal character. Cedar responds quickly to a light touch, offering rich harmonic depth and a smooth, rounded top end. It’s especially rewarding for expressive strumming, dynamic accompaniment and players who want immediate responsiveness straight out of the case.
The back and sides are crafted from khaya, a mahogany known for its excellent stability and tonal balance. Paired with the cedar top, khaya adds clarity and definition across the frequency range, helping maintain articulation while preserving warmth. The result is a dreadnought that feels full and powerful without becoming muddy.
In the classic dreadnought body format, the T118 delivers strong projection, impressive volume and a rich low-end response. It’s ideal for confident strumming, singer-songwriter accompaniment and ensemble playing where you need presence and headroom.
Visually, the Natural gloss finish enhances the beauty of the cedar grain while adding a refined, traditional aesthetic. The fingerboard, bridge and headstock are crafted from Brown BrankoWood, offering durability and a smooth playing feel with a subtle contemporary edge.
The khaya neck, 43 mm compensated black graphite nut and double-action truss rod ensure comfortable playability and long-term stability. With a 650 mm scale length, 20 medium silver nickel frets and a 350 mm fingerboard radius, it offers a familiar and accessible feel suited to a wide range of players.
Oil bath machine heads with a precise 1:18 ratio provide reliable tuning stability, and it comes strung with coated phosphor bronze light strings (12–52) for balanced tone and longevity.
The Tramontane 118 series has built a strong reputation for delivering tone, elegance and value in equal measure — and this dreadnought version is no exception. It’s exactly the kind of warm, expressive acoustic that players appreciate discovering at Musicmaker: refined, reliable and ready to inspire.
