Rapier Saffire Bass Guitar - Daphne Blue
The Rapier™ Saffire Bass in its 4-string, medium-scale iteration is the latest augmentation to the distinguished series crafted by the renowned UK guitar artisan and designer, Alan Entwistle. This exquisite creation draws inspiration from the archetypal Rapier, a quintessential presence in the landscape of British-built guitars and basses during the transformative era of the 1960s.
Noteworthy tonewood and hardware enhancements grace this captivating model, featuring a basswood body, a 4-bolt configuration securing a robust hard rock maple neck endowed with a fully adjustable truss rod. The instrument boasts a 25-fret (inclusive of the zero fret) double-octave fingerboard, presenting a 31-inch (78.74 cm) scale.
Adorned with a pair of Alan Entwistle EWR64B double-coil pickups, a 3-way selector switch, a singular volume control, a comprehensive tone control, and a mid-boost control, the Rapier Saffire Bass proves itself versatile across a spectrum of musical genres. It effortlessly articulates the classic Rapier bass resonance, a hallmark heard on numerous early British pop compositions.
Radiant in its Daphne Blue finish, the aesthetic appeal is further elevated by the flagship 2-piece, 3-ply scratchplate. Additional refinements include a GraphTech nut, chrome machine heads, and a fully adjustable 4-saddle bridge, culminating in an instrument of both sonic prowess and visual elegance.
