These questions revolve not only around details in the musical text but also its famous nickname: Is "Elise," as written in the dedication in the autograph, even correct? Or should it be "Therese"? Whom did Beethoven truly mean? The latest findings addressing these questions are thoroughly documented in our Henle Urtext edition. The revised musical text is now being released ahead of the eagerly awaited volume "Piano Pieces" in the Complete Edition, meticulously prepared by Beethoven scholar Joanna Cobb Biermann.
