Mozart Piano Sonata E Flat Major KV 282
Mozart's sole piano sonata in E-flat major likely originated during his visit to Munich in early 1775. Surprisingly, its first movement, an Adagio, stands out as one of those compositions by the young prodigy that immediately and deeply moves the listener. Following this touching movement, two minuets are presented, drawing inspiration from the enchanting sound of woodwinds. The sonata concludes with a brisk final movement in 2/4 time, characterised by a striking opening motif. This work, of moderate difficulty, stands as a masterful creation by Mozart. Notably, Mozart's meticulously handwritten copy remains the only relevant source for editorial purposes, as all the early printed editions have been found to contain errors.
