Pre-Owned Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini

The Pre-Owned Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini TSMINI takes one of the most recognisable overdrive sounds in guitar history and squeezes it into a gloriously tiny green box. If pedalboard space is getting tight but you still want that unmistakable Tube Screamer warmth, midrange push and smooth overdrive, this little Japanese-made stompbox is an absolute belter.

The Tube Screamer formula has been a guitarist favourite for decades because it can perform several jobs exceptionally well. Run the Overdrive low and the Level high and the TSMINI becomes a cracking boost for pushing a valve amp or tightening up an existing high-gain sound. Turn the drive up and you've got that familiar creamy, compressed overdrive that's brilliant for blues, rock, indie and lead guitar.

That characteristic mid-focused response is also why Tube Screamers are so good at helping a guitar find its place in a band mix. Rather than simply piling more bass and gain onto your sound, the TSMINI can add definition and presence where the guitar actually needs it. Humbuckers get tighter and more focused; single coils can gain extra body and sustain.

Controls couldn't be much simpler. Overdrive, Tone and Level give you everything needed to move from a subtle edge-of-breakup push through crunchy rhythm sounds and into saturated lead territory. The larger Level knob is particularly easy to grab when you're making quick adjustments on a busy pedalboard.

Despite its miniature dimensions, this isn't merely a novelty-sized approximation of a Tube Screamer. The TSMINI is Made in Japan and designed to deliver the classic Tube Screamer character in a housing roughly half the size of its bigger relatives.

You also get true bypass switching, keeping the signal path direct when the effect is disengaged. At approximately 51mm wide and 93mm long, it'll squeeze comfortably into pedalboard gaps where a conventional stompbox simply won't fit — potentially creating enough room for another pedal you absolutely do not need but will obviously buy anyway.

Power comes from a 9V DC centre-negative pedal power supply, with current consumption of just 18mA. One important thing to note is that the Tube Screamer Mini does not operate from a 9V battery, so you'll need an appropriate external supply.

As a pre-owned Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini, this is a particularly tasty way to add one of the great overdrive flavours to your board while keeping both the footprint and spend under control. Use it as your main drive, stack it with other pedals, push an amp into glorious breakup or stick it in front of a high-gain rig to tighten everything up.

Small pedal. Extremely large family reputation.

And yes, once you've owned a Tube Screamer, you are legally permitted to spend several evenings arguing about Tube Screamers on guitar forums. We don't make the rules.
