Rapier Saffire Electric Guitar - Sunburst
The Rapier Saffire Electric Guitar is a modern rebirth of a true British classic, originally designed to bring stylish, affordable performance to 1960s players. Revived by renowned UK guitar designer Alan Entwistle, this Sunburst beauty blends vintage-inspired aesthetics with player-focused upgrades, making it every bit as striking to play as it is to behold.
Its basswood body is shaped in the instantly recognisable double-cut silhouette, paired with a hard rock maple neck for stability and a smooth, confident feel. The rosewood fingerboard features a double-octave range and a zero fret, delivering even tone and consistent action across the entire neck. The Sunburst finish is framed by a two-piece tortoiseshell-style pickguard, keeping the look rooted in its 1960s heritage while exuding timeless elegance.
At its heart are three Alan Entwistle EWR64 mini double-coil pickups, designed to deliver clear, articulate tones with just the right amount of vintage bite. A clever control layout featuring individual pickup on/off rocker switches, a master volume and tone, and a mid-boost switch gives you instant tonal versatility—whether you want glassy cleans, punchy rhythms, or growling leads.
Hardware appointments include a Rapier Hi Lo vibrato system for expressive pitch bends, a compensated roller bridge for smooth tuning stability, and a GraphTech Nubone nut for consistent resonance. Chrome hardware and the distinctive “Saffire” pickguard logo complete the instrument’s retro-modern personality.
At Musicmaker, we’re always drawn to instruments that balance heritage with innovation, and the Rapier Saffire in Sunburst nails that balance—rich in history, but built to perform for today’s players.
