Schumann Piano Concerto in A Minor OP. 54
Just like many piano virtuosos of his era, Robert Schumann also aspired to introduce himself to the public as both a pianist and composer through his very own piano concerto. His initial attempts began at a young age. As time progressed, he found himself gravitating towards a more unconstrained formal concept. Ultimately, the outline of a single-movement "Phantasie" evolved into the opening segment of this renowned composition, which is now being presented for the first time in a practical Urtext edition. The esteemed pianist Mitsuko Uchida has contributed fingerings to this edition. The score and orchestral materials are available from Breitkopf & Härtel, marking an exciting opportunity to delve into this musical gem.
