Gibraltar SC-CFL/4 Cymbal Felts Long, 4 Pack

Cymbal felts are tiny circles of material entrusted with the fairly important job of keeping large, expensive pieces of bronze from rattling directly against metal hardware. The Gibraltar SC-CFL/4 Long Cymbal Felts are the taller option in Gibraltar's replacement range, supplied as a four-pack for refreshing tired cymbal stands or stocking the drum-hardware spares box.

These are large, thick cymbal felts, designed to sit between the cymbal and the stand hardware, cushioning the cymbal while allowing it to move naturally when struck. That little bit of separation helps avoid unwanted metal-on-metal contact and protects the area around the cymbal's centre hole from unnecessary hardware contact.

The SC-CFL/4 is Gibraltar's tall version, rather than the shorter SC-CFS/4. Gibraltar specifies these large felts at approximately 1½" thick, while current retail specifications list a diameter of around 38mm. That substantial profile makes them a useful replacement where a taller conventional cymbal felt is required.

They're particularly handy when the original felts on an older stand have become compressed, misshapen or transformed into something resembling a digestive biscuit that's been sitting behind the radiator since 2004. Swapping them out is one of the simplest bits of drum-hardware maintenance you can do.

You get four felts in the pack, so there's enough to sort several stands or keep a couple tucked away as emergency spares. At Musicmaker, we'd strongly recommend the latter. Nobody thinks about spare cymbal felts until one rolls underneath a riser at soundcheck and apparently enters another dimension.
