Combining a tuner, metronome, timer, countdown and flashlight in one compact clip-on unit, it's a seriously handy little multitool for practice, rehearsals, gigs and backstage emergencies.

First and foremost, it's a fast, precise tuner with a bright colour TFT LCD display that's easy to read at a glance. Five dedicated tuning modes cover Chromatic, Guitar, Bass, Violin and Ukulele, while the reference pitch can be adjusted between 430Hz and 450Hz for players who need something beyond standard A=440Hz.

Then there's the built-in metronome, offering tempos from 30–208 BPM with 12 time-signature presets and three volume settings. It's perfect for tightening up your timing, working through exercises or discovering that the riff you thought you could play at 180 BPM is, in fact, currently a 126 BPM riff.

The timer and countdown functions are brilliant for structured practice, warm-ups and keeping track of set times, and they'll continue running while you're using other Beacon modes. And yes, Taylor genuinely put a flashlight on the back. Lost a pick under an amp? Dark stage? Can't see the pedalboard cables? The Beacon has suddenly become surprisingly useful.

Best of all, there's no constant hunt for coin-cell batteries. The Beacon has an integrated rechargeable battery and charges via USB, with the charging cable included.
