The best travel guitars are the ones that stop feeling like a compromise five minutes after you pick them up. The Lâg Guitars Sauvage Travel Acoustic with Gig Bag takes the distinctive materials and wonderfully rugged personality of the Sauvage series and shrinks them into a compact instrument designed for holidays, road trips, songwriting sessions and those occasions when bringing the full-sized acoustic simply isn't practical.

The Sauvage-T uses a compact Travel body paired with a shorter 600mm scale length, making it noticeably easier to carry while still retaining familiar steel-string guitar proportions. Crucially, Lâg keeps the 43mm nut width found on many of its full-sized acoustics, so the neck doesn't suddenly feel toy-like just because the body is smaller. Standard chord shapes, fingerstyle patterns and lead playing all remain comfortably familiar.

And this is unmistakably a Sauvage. The guitar combines a Pale BrankoWood top with Smoked Eucalyptus back and sides, finished with the series' distinctive rough-sawn texture. There's something brilliantly tactile about it—the guitar doesn't look like it's terrified of getting a fingerprint on it. The natural satin finish, black hardware and angular Lâg headstock complete an instrument with considerably more personality than your average travel guitar.

The construction is doing more than looking cool, too. Lâg uses X-bracing alongside a rounded back design to help this smaller body produce a richer, more expressive acoustic response than its dimensions might suggest. BrankoWood also forms part of Lâg's more environmentally considered approach to instrument construction, with the material treated for stability and resistance to environmental changes—particularly appropriate for a guitar that's actually designed to travel.

A Khaya neck and Black BrankoWood fingerboard keep the playing experience smooth and contemporary. The fingerboard has a comfortable 350mm radius, while 20 medium silver-nickel frets and a double-action truss rod give you the reassuring specification of a proper acoustic guitar rather than a novelty-sized instrument.

It's worth noting that this particular model is the Sauvage-T acoustic, rather than the Sauvage-TE electro-acoustic version. There are no onboard electronics here—just the guitar's natural acoustic voice, which makes perfect sense for an instrument designed to be grabbed whenever and wherever you fancy playing.

Lâg fits it from the factory with coated phosphor bronze Light .012–.052 strings, and a padded gig bag is included. That's a particularly important part of the package with a travel guitar: sling it over your shoulder, throw your essentials in the car and you're ready to disappear for the weekend with a proper instrument in tow.
