Lag Guitars Sauvage Dreadnought Cutaway Electro-Acoustic
Sustainable design meets powerful stage performance
The Lâg Sauvage Dreadnought Cutaway Electro-Acoustic takes the bold, eco-conscious spirit of the Sauvage series and pairs it with full live-performance capability. Designed as part of Lâg’s innovative “Green Guitars” concept, this model combines sustainable materials, reduced-impact finishing techniques and commanding dreadnought tone — now with onboard electronics ready for the stage.
At the heart of the Sauvage range is BrankoWood, developed as a sustainable alternative to traditional exotic hardwoods. Through a controlled tropicalisation process, the density is carefully regulated to create a material with tonal characteristics close to spruce. The result is a solid Pale BrankoWood top that delivers impressive projection, clarity and dynamic headroom, with a distinctive natural grain pattern.
The fingerboard, bridge and headstock veneer are crafted from Black BrankoWood, offering the look and density of ebony while remaining environmentally responsible. It feels smooth and responsive under the fingers, enhancing articulation and note separation.
The back and sides are constructed from smoked eucalyptus, finished with a bold rough sawn texture. This textured aesthetic significantly reduces varnish and sanding stages during production, limiting solvent emissions and energy use while giving the guitar its raw, organic character. A satin finish complements the design, allowing the wood to resonate freely.
In the dreadnought body format with cutaway, the Sauvage delivers powerful projection, strong low-end presence and impressive dynamic range. It handles confident strumming with ease while still offering clarity for fingerstyle passages. The cutaway design provides comfortable access to the upper frets, making it a versatile choice for modern players. The curved back enhances both ergonomics and resonance, improving comfort during longer sessions.
For amplified performance, this model features the Stage Lâg preamp system, complete with volume control, 3-band EQ, built-in tuner, phase switch and notch filter. This comprehensive setup allows precise tonal shaping and effective feedback control, making it ideal for live gigs, rehearsals and recording environments.
The Khaya neck, 43 mm compensated black graphite nut, double-action truss rod and oil bath machine heads ensure reliable tuning stability and smooth playability. With 20 medium silver nickel frets, a 350 mm radius and a 650 mm scale length, it offers a familiar and comfortable feel for a wide range of players.
Supplied with a quilted gig bag, the Sauvage Dreadnought Cutaway Electro-Acoustic is ready for stage, studio or travel.
It’s exactly the kind of forward-thinking, performance-ready acoustic that turns heads at Musicmaker — sustainable in construction, commanding in tone and fully equipped for modern musicians.
