The Gibraltar SC-GQRDK Quick Release Drum Key offers a beautifully simple solution: attach the thing to yourself.

The clever bit is the quick-release keyring mechanism. Clip the SC-GQRDK onto a lanyard, keyring, carabiner or suitable loop on your bag and the drum key stays close at hand. When it's tuning time, press the release and the key detaches quickly without having to remove the entire keyring or wrestle with a conventional split ring.

Gibraltar has also weighted the key for balance and easy spinning, making it particularly useful when you're working around multiple tension rods or swapping a drumhead in a hurry. Spin the rods down quickly, get them seated and then make your finer tuning adjustments – simple, quick and considerably less irritating than doing every turn with tiny wrist movements.

The standard 1/4" drum-key socket fits conventional drum tension rods, so it'll handle the everyday tuning duties you'd expect across acoustic kits, snares and toms using standard square-headed rods.
