The Alvarez MD60ce Masterworks Dreadnought Cutaway is a serious acoustic built for players who don’t hold back. At its core is a solid AAA Sitka spruce top, chosen for stiffness, responsiveness and dynamic headroom. Paired with solid African mahogany back and sides, the MD60ce produces a bold, focused low end with crisp articulation and warm, woody mids. It’s the classic dreadnought recipe — punchy, balanced and capable of cutting through a full ensemble without losing nuance.

The FS6 bracing system is a forward-shifted, scalloped X design, creating a slightly larger vibrating area around the bridge. This enhances top movement and response, delivering greater projection and quicker attack — ideal for bluegrass rhythm, driving folk strums or articulate flatpicking runs.

This cutaway version adds practical versatility, giving you easy upper-fret access for lead work and melodic passages further up the neck. The slightly extended fingerboard, 21 frets and comfortable African mahogany neck ensure smooth playability across the entire range.

Visually, the MD60ce pays tribute to traditional bluegrass aesthetics.
