Boss XS-100 Poly Shifter Pedal
Boss XS-100 Poly Shifter Pedal
Looking for a pitch pedal that doesn’t just keep up, but pushes your sound into bold new territory? Say hello to the Boss XS‑100 Poly Shifter — a high-performance, polyphonic pitch-shifting powerhouse that’s as comfortable on the floor of a sweaty venue as it is in a boutique pedalboard setup. Whether you’re crafting shimmering ambient textures, experimenting with alternate tunings, or bending harmonies on the fly, this pedal offers everything you need and more — with pro-level tracking and a user interface designed for creative freedom.
At the heart of the XS-100 is a seriously refined polyphonic engine that tracks chords and single notes with equal ease — no glitching, no lag, and none of that warbly weirdness you'd get from older pitch pedals. Chords track smoothly, even when shifting multiple octaves up or down, so whether you’re strumming big open chords or picking intricate arpeggios, your sound stays clean, punchy, and musical.
One of the standout features here is the built-in expression pedal, which opens up a world of real-time pitch control. Want to glide from standard tuning down to Drop C mid-riff? You can. Need to sweep into a harmony an octave above your solo line? Done. It responds with remarkable smoothness and accuracy, turning your foot into a true pitch-bending instrument. For players into cinematic swells, glitch-free harmonised leads, or warbly detuned goodness, this is your playground.
The LCD display makes navigating patches and fine-tuning settings straightforward and intuitive — even mid-gig. You can quickly access preset tunings, store your own custom pitch combinations, or jump between up/down shift modes, detune effects, and alternate capo settings. Whether you're running a clean folk set or pushing boundaries in a post-rock outfit, you’ll appreciate just how versatile — and musical — this pedal can be.
With capo and drop tuning emulation built in, the XS-100 becomes a lifesaver on stage. Need to go from standard tuning to open D without swapping guitars? Easy. Want to replicate a baritone guitar setup for one track in your set? Sorted — without the hassle of hauling extra gear.
Like all things Boss, it’s housed in a road-ready chassis that’s built to survive the chaos of touring life. It’s compact enough for any board but powerful enough to sit at the centre of your setup. If you're a working player in Ireland (or anywhere else) looking for a single pedal to handle harmonies, pitch sweeps, alternate tunings and detuning effects — the XS-100 is ready to put in the work. And frankly, it’s a bit addictive.
