D'Addario EXL157 Nickel Wound Baritone Electric Guitar Strings, Medium, 14-68
D'Addario EXL157 Nickel Wound Baritone Electric Guitar Strings, Medium, 14-68
Big, bold, and built for the low end—D'Addario EXL157 Baritone Strings are the go-to choice for guitarists ready to dive into deeper tunings without sacrificing clarity, bite, or feel. Designed specifically for traditional long-scale baritone electrics, this set holds its ground in drop tunings, extended range compositions, or any musical setting where standard tuning just doesn't cut it.
From thick, riff-driven rock to cinematic ambient textures, these strings offer a brilliant mix of punchy attack and smooth sustain. The nickel-plated steel wrap gives you that classic D'Addario brightness—clear enough to cut through a dense mix but with enough warmth to sit right in the pocket.
At .014–.068, the gauges are carefully balanced to provide tight tension, which means no floppy low strings and no buzzed-out chords. The hex-core construction underneath ensures rock-solid tuning stability and reliable intonation, even when you’re laying into the low B or pushing a fuzzed-out drone through a wall of amps.
At Musicmaker, we often recommend these to players pushing creative boundaries—film composers, doom riffers, extended range jazzers, or anyone exploring the darker side of the tonal spectrum.
