Now available as a reissue, the Danelectro 3699 fUZZ faithfully reproduces the glorious fuzz tones that made the original a must-have for countless players since its inception in the 1970s. Encased in a robust metal chassis with Danelectro's signature custom wear-and-tear finish, aged knobs, and a distinctive large lens orange on/off indicator, this reissue incorporates the original analog circuitry and decades-old NOS transistors, meticulously gain-selected for a narrow gain range that produces sweet tones. While retaining the unmistakable vintage core-tone voice, the reissue introduces an independent foot-switchable octave with a more pronounced octave shift, providing a new dimension to chords and adding extreme highs to solo note runs. In the '70s, it was trendy for a company to have a phone number spelling out the name of the product. Steve calculated the numbers needed to spell F-O-X-X, resulting in 3-6-9-9. Surprisingly, this was already the FOXX company phone number randomly assigned the year before by the phone company.
