ProMark H-Rods Hot Rods
The perfect middle ground between sticks and brushes
The ProMark H-Rods Hot Rods are a go-to solution for drummers who need to rein things in without losing feel, control or groove. Sitting neatly between standard drumsticks and brushes, H-Rods give you reduced volume with a natural stick-like response — ideal for quieter gigs, acoustic sessions and rehearsal rooms where full sticks are just a bit too much.
Constructed from bundled hardwood dowels, H-Rods deliver a warm, articulate attack with less bite and volume than a traditional stick. They’re especially popular for unplugged shows, worship settings, theatre pits and low-volume pop or folk gigs, where touch and dynamics matter more than sheer power. On cymbals, they produce a softer wash with controlled definition, while on drums they maintain clarity without overwhelming the mix.
Comfortable in the hand and easy to control, ProMark H-Rods let you play properly — not tiptoe around the kit. They’re a brilliant option when brushes feel too soft and sticks feel too loud, and a staple accessory many drummers keep in their stick bag at all times. A quiet hero, and one we’re always happy to recommend here at Musicmaker.
