ProMark Hickory 717 Rick Latham Wood Tip Drumstick

ProMark Hickory 717 Rick Latham Wood Tip Drumstick

Precision, versatility, and a touch of showmanship—ProMark’s 717 Rick Latham signature sticks are made for drummers who demand finesse as well as firepower. Designed in collaboration with legendary groove master Rick Latham, these sticks are built to support everything from tight funk to intricate fusion and hard-hitting rock. If your style is clean, articulate, and expressive, this pair will feel like an extension of your own hands.

Crafted from high-quality American hickory, the 717s provide that unmistakable balance between durability and bounce. They're responsive under pressure, resistant to rimshot damage, and feel comfortable no matter the grip. The long taper design adds extra finesse, giving you fast rebound and precise control on both snares and cymbals.

The standout feature? That compact barrel-shaped wood tip. It delivers a full-bodied, defined tone across all surfaces—cymbals, heads, or pads—making these sticks especially popular with players who want to keep every note crisp and consistent, even at lower dynamics

Here at Musicmaker, we often point jazz, funk, and session drummers toward the 717s when they’re after something a bit more refined without sacrificing power. A real “player’s pair,” these sticks are built to handle the nuance and the noise.
