Evans EC2 Coated Drum Head - 16"
Evans EC2 Coated Drum Head - 16"
The Evans EC2 Coated Drum Head – 16" is built for drummers who want controlled tone, punchy attack, and serious durability — all without choking the life out of their tom sound.
Part of Evans’ popular EC2 series, this head features a two-ply construction that delivers a focused, powerful tone with plenty of depth. It’s ideal for players who hit a bit harder or want a more controlled, studio-ready sound straight out of the drum.
The real magic comes from Evans’ Sound Shaping Technology (SST) — a subtle internal edge control ring that helps tame unwanted overtones and tighten up the sound. The result is a clean, punchy response with a shorter sustain, making it perfect for live settings where clarity matters.
The coated finish adds a bit of extra warmth and softness to the attack, giving your tom a fuller, rounder tone compared to clear heads. It also brings a slightly more traditional feel under the stick, which many players prefer.
At 16", this head is perfect for floor toms, delivering that satisfying low-end thump while staying controlled and articulate.
It’s the kind of head that makes your kit sound more “finished” with minimal effort — less ringing, more focus, and a tone that sits exactly where you want it.
