There’s something undeniably special about a well-built parlour guitar. Comfortable, intimate and expressive, it invites nuance — and the Alvarez MP60e Masterworks Parlour delivers exactly that. Finished in a rich Shadowburst gloss, this all-solid instrument blends vintage character with modern precision.

Built with a solid AAA Sitka spruce top and solid African mahogany back and sides, the MP60e offers a wonderfully balanced tonal palette. The spruce provides clarity, projection and dynamic headroom, while mahogany contributes warmth, woody mids and a focused low end. In a parlour body, that combination translates into articulate note separation, sweet trebles and a tight, controlled bass response.

The smaller body size naturally adds a touch of compression and immediacy, making this guitar exceptionally responsive to light touch and fingerstyle technique. It’s ideal for blues, folk, slide, alternate tunings and intimate songwriting sessions where articulation and character matter more than sheer volume.

Internally, the MP60e features Alvarez’s FS6 forward-shifted, scalloped X-bracing, allowing the top to vibrate more freely and generate a broader frequency response than many traditional parlours. The result is a surprisingly open and resonant voice for such a compact instrument.

Like all Masterworks models, the MP60e benefits from ATR™ (Advanced Tonal Response) treatment. Through oxygen-controlled curing and thermo-kiln processing, the tonewoods behave like a more mature guitar from day one — delivering enhanced stability, quicker response and improved clarity across the strings.

Aesthetically, the Shadowburst finish adds vintage-inspired depth and elegance. Premium appointments include an East Indian rosewood fingerboard and headstock fascia, a Bi-Level Indian rosewood bridge, bone nut and saddle, ebony bridge pins, premium MOP inlays and open-gear tuners. The African mahogany neck meets the body at the 14th fret, offering a comfortable and familiar feel.

For stage and recording work, the MP60e is equipped with the LR Baggs HiFi system, providing natural, balanced amplified tone with excellent feedback resistance. It’s a high-fidelity, non-invasive pickup system that faithfully captures the guitar’s acoustic character.
