Lag Guitars Sauvage Dreadnought Acoustic
Powerful projection with a sustainable soul
With the Sauvage series, Lâg introduces the concept of Green Guitars — a bold step forward in combining innovation, sustainability and striking design. In a world where environmental responsibility matters more than ever, the Sauvage Dreadnought Acoustic stands out as a distinctive, eco-conscious instrument built with carefully selected materials and reduced-impact finishing techniques.
At the core of the Sauvage range is BrankoWood, developed by scientist Branko Hermescee as a sustainable alternative to traditional exotic hardwoods. Through a controlled tropicalisation process that regulates density, this model features a solid Pale BrankoWood top with a density close to spruce. The result is impressive projection, clarity and dynamic response, paired with a naturally beautiful grain pattern.
The headstock veneer, fingerboard and bridge are crafted from Black BrankoWood, offering the look, density and durability of ebony while remaining environmentally responsible. Smooth under the fingers and tonally articulate, it reinforces the guitar’s clean and balanced voice.
The back and sides are made from smoked eucalyptus, finished with a distinctive rough sawn texture. This bold, organic aesthetic is more than visual — it significantly reduces varnish application and sanding stages during production, helping to limit solvent emissions and energy consumption. The satin finish complements this raw character, allowing the wood to resonate freely while preserving its natural feel.
In the dreadnought format, the Sauvage truly opens up. Expect powerful projection, strong and rounded bass response, and impressive dynamic headroom. It handles confident strumming effortlessly while still maintaining clarity for melodic passages. The curved back design enhances both resonance and playing comfort, making long sessions feel natural and balanced.
The Khaya neck provides warmth and stability, while practical details such as a 43 mm compensated black graphite nut, double-action truss rod, and oil bath machine heads ensure dependable setup and tuning stability. With 20 medium silver nickel frets, a 350 mm radius and a classic 650 mm scale length, it feels familiar and accessible to a wide range of players.
Supplied with a quilted gig bag, the Sauvage Dreadnought is ready for rehearsals, live performance or songwriting sessions wherever inspiration strikes.
It’s the kind of forward-thinking instrument that sparks curiosity when it’s picked up at Musicmaker — sustainable in design, commanding in voice and built for modern musicians who care about both tone and impact.
