Epiphone Broadway, Wine Red

Epiphone Broadway, Wine Red

The Epiphone Broadway is one of the true grand dames of the archtop guitar world. With a history stretching back more than seven decades, it has earned a reputation as one of the finest hollowbody guitars ever to bear the Epiphone name. Revered by jazz players for its warm, sophisticated voice, the Broadway has also found favour with blues, roots rock, swing, rockabilly, and countless musicians who appreciate the unmistakable character that only a large hollowbody can deliver.

From the moment you pick it up, the Broadway feels every bit the classic. Its full-size hollowbody construction delivers a rich, resonant acoustic voice that translates beautifully through an amplifier, offering the depth, warmth, and dynamic response that have made archtop guitars a staple of stages and studios for generations.

Equipped with a pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers, the Broadway balances vintage-inspired warmth with impressive versatility. The neck pickup delivers smooth, rounded jazz tones that seem to glide effortlessly from the speaker, while the bridge pickup introduces additional bite and articulation for blues, roots music, and classic rock-inspired sounds. Blending the two unlocks a huge range of expressive voices, making this far more than a dedicated jazz instrument.

Visually, the Broadway exudes understated elegance. Gold hardware, stunning mother-of-pearl and abalone inlays, and the iconic gold Frequensator Split Trapeze tailpiece combine to create a guitar that looks every bit as refined as it sounds. The Frequensator tailpiece isn't just for show either, contributing to the instrument's unique feel and response while paying tribute to Epiphone's rich heritage. Premium tuners ensure reliable tuning stability, while the comfortable neck profile makes the Broadway surprisingly approachable for extended playing sessions. Whether you're comping jazz standards, exploring blues phrasing, backing a singer-songwriter, or adding rich textures to a recording, it delivers a playing experience that's inspiring from the very first chord.

At Musicmaker, we're always drawn to instruments with a genuine story to tell, and few guitars carry as much history and character as the Epiphone Broadway. It's a guitar that honours its heritage while remaining as relevant and versatile as ever.
