Following a much hyped limited edition run of the same effects unit, Fender have released a standard edition of this stellar Fuzz pedal.
It is exactly the same badass circuit as the limited edition model that came out earlier this year, just without the fancy cardboard box and name plaque on the back.
This pedal really marks a historic moment for Fender as it's their first-ever signature fuzz pedal. As a unique collaboration between Fender and the frontman of My Bloody Valentine and pedal virtuoso, Kevin Shields, it is a truly special offering.
Kevin Shields, known for his groundbreaking work on effect-laden guitar tones, redefined the world of fuzz in the '80s and '90s, creating iconic sonic walls of sound. His weapon of choice for this fuzz-laden chaos was the original Fender Blender effect pedal, celebrated for its dynamic response and intense fuzz splatter. After over four years of collaboration, Fender and Shields have resurrected this mythical 1970s fuzz pedal of myth, and infused it with innovative features, giving birth to this here octave monster.
At its core, the Fender Shields Blender faithfully reproduces the tone of Shields' own vintage 1970s Fender Blender by meticulously tracing the circuit from his personal fuzz box. Surrounding this vintage circuit are entirely new ways to control and blend the original fuzz voice, designed with performance in mind and featuring four easily accessible footswitches. It offers two footswitchable channels of fuzz, each with dedicated level controls, enabling you to blend the fuzz voice with your clean signal or with a robust suboctave fuzz. Additionally, the sag footswitch introduces unique sputtering and ducking effects, responding to the intensity of your playing dynamics like never before heard. This pedal is a tribute to Kevin Shields' pioneering sonic explorations and an exciting addition to Fender's lineup.
