Lace Cigar Box Electric Guitar - 4 String - Gone Fishin'
The Lace™ Cigar Box Instruments seamlessly preserve the authenticity and charm that has captivated creative musicians since the inception of Cigar Box Guitars in the late 1800s across the USA. These instruments, handcrafted in Southern California, embody a professional luthier level of construction and feature superior hardware, ensuring excellent playability and exceptional tone.
With captivating custom artwork, the Lace Cigar Box Guitar boasts a fresh sound, thoughtfully designed for ease of playability, capable of delivering a range of genres, including Rock, Alternative, Country, Blues, or Jazz, on both the three or four-string configurations.
The standout Matchbook™ pickup, a standard feature on all 3 and 4 string models, is a USA-made, patented pickup specifically designed for the Cigar Box Guitar, utilizing Lace’s™ Alumitone® "Current Driven" design. Resembling an actual matchbook, this innovative pickup incorporates a single magnet as the "striker." With zero noise-floor, double coil power, and single coil clarity controlled by a push-pull volume pot, the Matchbook™ offers a versatile tonal range, from mean to clean.
Constructed from robust pressboard and mahogany veneer with a satin gloss finish and chromed metal protective corners, these lightweight and portable instruments are visually stunning and built to withstand the test of time. The one-piece hard rock maple neck, double adjustable truss rod, and 20-fret maple fingerboard contribute to exceptional playability.
The bridge, featuring a steel plate design with 20mm of adjustability, ensures perfect intonation for each string. Open gear machine heads, reminiscent of classic vintage instruments, sport a 14:1 gear ratio, paired with a precision-cut bone nut, guaranteeing tuning stability, accurate intonation, and excellent sustain and harmonics.
For a complete package, an optional handcrafted Lace Cigar Box Guitar Case (model CBC34) is available, covered in tweed with white piping accents, stitching, antique brass locking latch, and a soft handle. The interior, adorned with rich red velvet lining and neck and body supports, provides supreme protection for the instrument.
