GEWA Fingerboard Fret Marking For 4/4 Violin and 35,5 cm (14'') Viola
GEWA Fingerboard Fret Marking For 4/4 Violin and 35,5 cm (14'') Viola
Precision. Discipline. Intonation. For developing string players, these aren’t just aspirations—they are the foundation upon which technique is built. The GEWA Fingerboard Fret Marking System offers a clear, unobtrusive visual guide for students seeking to internalise finger positions on a 4/4 violin or 35.5 cm (14") viola, without compromising the integrity of traditional string pedagogy.
This expertly calibrated decal adheres directly to the fingerboard, placing precise, measured markings beneath each primary finger position. It is designed to aid ear training while simultaneously reinforcing muscle memory—helping students make the critical connection between pitch, position, and physical awareness. Unlike coloured tapes or clumsy DIY solutions, GEWA’s markings are discreet, mathematically accurate, and engineered to maintain a clean visual profile for both student and instructor.
Favoured by string educators, examiners, and conservatoire instructors, this is a tool not for shortcutting technique, but for refining it. It is not a crutch. It is a compass.
