Remo 9" Weatherking Fiberskyn 3 Bongo Head, M6 Type w/ F5 Film
The Remo M60900F5 9" Weatherking Fiberskyn 3 Bongo Head, M6 Type with F5 Film is a superb replacement head for percussionists looking to bring warm, natural tone and authentic feel back to their bongos. Designed with Remo’s respected Fiberskyn 3 technology, this head combines the durability and consistency of modern synthetic materials with the rich, organic character traditionally associated with natural skin heads.
Specifically built for M6-type bongos, the 9" Fiberskyn 3 head delivers a warm, rounded response with controlled overtones and excellent articulation. The F5 Fiberskyn film creates a softer, more natural attack compared to brighter synthetic alternatives, helping produce the earthy, expressive tonal character percussionists love in Latin, Afro-Cuban, acoustic, and world music settings.
One of the standout strengths of the Weatherking Fiberskyn range is its reliability across changing environments. Unlike natural skin heads, the synthetic construction resists fluctuations caused by humidity and temperature, making it a far more dependable option for regular gigging, touring, rehearsal spaces, and outdoor performances.
Tonally, this head offers impressive balance between warmth, projection, and sensitivity. Open tones remain full and musical, slaps cut clearly without sounding harsh, and softer finger techniques retain excellent detail and response.
At Musicmaker, Fiberskyn heads are always popular with percussionists who want the feel and warmth of traditional heads but with the consistency and low-maintenance practicality modern players need.
