Vocalzone Throat Pastilles - Original

If your voice is doing the heavy lifting – whether you're singing a set, teaching all day, presenting, rehearsing or generally talking yourself hoarse – Vocalzone Throat Pastilles – Original are one of those little gig-bag additions that can become a firm favourite.

The Original formula has been around for well over a century and is designed to soothe and clear the throat and help relieve irritation or dryness associated with excessive singing or speaking. The distinctive recipe combines myrrh tincture, liquorice extract, menthol and peppermint oil, giving Vocalzone Original its unmistakably strong flavour. Subtle, it is not!

One particularly useful feature for performers is that Vocalzone contains no anaesthetic or numbing agent. Rather than deadening sensation in the throat, the pastilles are intended to soothe while allowing singers and speakers to retain normal awareness of their voice.

They're also vegan, gluten free and lactose free. Unlike the Blackcurrant Sugar Free version, however, the Original recipe does contain sugar and glucose, which is worth keeping in mind when choosing between the different Vocalzone varieties.

At Musicmaker, we'd happily chuck a packet into the same survival kit as spare strings, picks and a tuner. When you've got rehearsals, gigs or a long day of talking ahead, looking after the instrument you can't simply put back in its case makes plenty of sense.

To consume, dissolve one pastille in the mouth and breathe deeply. Repeat every 2 hours if required.
