Stagg NAC1MPSPSR N Series Audio Cable, Mini Jack/Jack - 1 Metre

Stagg NAC1MPSPSR N Series Audio Cable, Mini Jack/Jack - 1 Metre

There is a very specific kind of annoyance caused by having the right audio signal, the right piece of equipment and the wrong-sized plug. The Stagg NAC1MPSPSR N Series Audio Cable exists to prevent precisely that little episode, connecting a standard 3.5mm stereo mini jack to a full-size 6.35mm stereo jack over a compact 1-metre run.

It's a particularly handy cable for connecting portable and consumer audio equipment to more traditional music gear. Think laptops, tablets, compatible phones, headphone outputs and portable players at the mini-jack end, with mixers, keyboards, audio equipment and other suitable 6.35mm stereo connections waiting at the other.

Both ends use male TRS stereo connectors, so unlike a basic mono instrument lead, the NAC1MPSPSR is wired to carry a stereo signal when used with compatible equipment. As always with stereo TRS connections, it's worth checking exactly what the sockets on your equipment are designed to accept – a plug fitting into a socket doesn't automatically mean the electronics behind it have agreed on what they're doing.

The cable comes from Stagg's N Series and uses REAN connectors, providing a reassuring step up from the anonymous little adapter cable that has spent the last five years tangled behind the desk. The cable itself measures 6mm in diameter, giving it a suitably substantial feel while remaining easy to coil and stash in a gig bag or studio drawer.

At 1 metre long, it's ideal for short connections where six metres of cable would simply result in five metres of decorative spaghetti on the floor. Studio desks, keyboard rigs, rehearsal setups and compact live-sound systems are exactly where something like this earns its keep.

At Musicmaker, we're firm believers that the humble cable drawer should contain a few of these problem-solvers. Nobody buys a mini-jack-to-jack lead because they've always dreamed of owning one. You buy it because something needs plugging into something else, preferably before soundcheck ends.
