There’s something uniquely satisfying about an ebony guitar slide. The Taylor 80763 Ebony Guitar Slide – 7/8" offers a warmer, mellower alternative to traditional glass or metal slides, with a lightweight feel that makes controlling pitch and vibrato beautifully natural.

Made from West African ebony sourced through Taylor’s Crelicam mill in Cameroon, the slide produces a smooth, rustic character with a natural damping effect. Compared with the brighter attack of brass, steel or glass, ebony softens things slightly, making it particularly lovely for acoustic blues, roots, country and Americana – though it'll happily bring its woody character to an electric guitar too.

This 7/8" version is the Extra Large size, making it the roomiest option in Taylor’s ebony slide range. The light weight is a real bonus too, allowing you to move quickly across the strings without the heavier feel associated with chunky metal slides.

There’s also a thoughtful sustainability angle. Taylor produces these slides from smaller pieces of ebony that aren't suitable for larger guitar components, helping make more complete use of this valuable tonewood while supporting the work carried out at Crelicam.
