Taylor Next Generation 414ce Spruce / Rosewood

Taylor Next Generation 414ce Spruce / Rosewood

The Taylor Next Generation 414ce – Spruce / Rosewood is a seriously refined take on one of Taylor’s most trusted workhorse models — now reimagined with modern design upgrades, enhanced tone, and player-focused innovation. It’s built for musicians who need versatility, reliability, and a rich, expressive voice across any setting.

The classic pairing of a solid Sitka spruce top with solid Indian rosewood back and sides delivers a beautifully balanced tonal palette. You’ll hear warm, rounded lows, crisp and pristine highs, and that slightly scooped midrange that makes this combination so versatile. It’s a sound that adapts effortlessly — equally suited to strumming, fingerstyle, studio work, or live performance.

Taylor’s updated scalloped V-Class® bracing takes things a step further, enhancing volume, sustain, and overall harmonic balance. Notes feel more connected across the fretboard, chords ring with clarity, and there’s a richness to the low end that adds real depth to your playing.

Another standout feature is the long-tenon Action Control Neck™, which not only contributes to extra warmth and tonal depth, but also allows for precise, on-the-fly string height adjustments. It’s a seriously practical innovation — especially for working players who need their setup just right.

Visually, the 414ce keeps things classy but distinctive. A full gloss-finish body, black binding, and firestripe pickguard give it a refined, modern look, while details like Weathervane inlays, Taylor nickel tuners, and a single-ring Italian acrylic rosette with black and white purfling add subtle character without overdoing it.

On the electronics side, Taylor’s new Claria System brings a fresh level of control and clarity when plugged in. With soundhole-mounted controls and a clever Mid Contour knob, you can easily shape your midrange to suit the room, the mix, or your style — whether you’re on stage or recording.

And when it’s time to travel, it comes protected in a deluxe hardshell case, keeping your investment safe wherever the music takes you.

This is a guitar that doesn’t just sound great — it’s built to adapt, perform, and inspire, no matter the setting.

It’s also the kind of instrument that tends to stop players in their tracks in Musicmaker — one strum in, and you know you’re dealing with something special.
