Vater Power 5B Wood Tip
Vater Power 5B Wood Tip
Built from solid American hickory, the Power 5B is like a 5B that hit the gym—featuring the same familiar diameter but with added length and a beefier taper that brings weight and authority to every stroke. Measuring in at 16.5 inches long, it gives you extra leverage and extended reach, perfect for commanding larger kits or laying into aggressive grooves with full confidence.
The wood tip is acorn-shaped, designed to offer a broad, rich sound on drums and a warm, complex wash on cymbals. Ideal for players who want a stick that can deliver dynamics and detail without skimping on sheer power.
Despite its name, the Power 5B doesn’t feel sluggish or unwieldy. It’s surprisingly well-balanced, offering great rebound and control—even during faster playing. That extra half-inch length doesn’t just help with reach, it also subtly shifts the balance point, giving your strokes added momentum and making the stick feel alive in the hand.
And as always, Vater ensures consistency across every pair. These aren’t just sticks—they’re tools you can trust, gig after gig, session after session.
At Musicmaker, we’ve found the Power 5B to be a go-to for rock drummers, gospel players, and anyone with a high-energy playing style who still needs nuance. A serious stick for serious players.
