The Alvarez AD60ce Artist Series Dreadnought takes everything players love about the AD60 and adds modern performance flexibility with a smooth cutaway and onboard electronics. Crafted to achieve outstanding levels of fit, finish and tonal ability, this is a powerful, articulate acoustic-electric designed to extract the very best from the dreadnought body shape.

At its heart is an A+ Solid North American Sitka spruce top, independently selected and graded for strength, clarity and responsiveness. Sitka delivers a broad tonal range with clear articulation and lively trebles, while the all-mahogany laminate back and sides provide warmth and balance, supporting strong, sonorous bass frequencies.

The AD60ce is voiced using Alvarez’s FS6 forward-shifted, scalloped bracing system, allowing more of the soundboard to vibrate freely. By shifting the bracing forward, the guitar gains a larger active top area around the bridge, resulting in enhanced resonance, impressive projection and bold low-end presence. It’s open, dynamic and confident — exactly what you want from a dreadnought.

The finish plays a role in tone too. A thin, flawless gloss finish on the top allows the spruce to breathe and respond naturally, while the semi-gloss sheen on the back and sides complements the aesthetic without restricting vibration. As part of the Artist Series, every structural detail is carefully considered. From the bi-level bridge design to solid bridge plates and precisely shaped neck blocks, the AD60ce is engineered to maximise tonal efficiency and responsiveness from its solid-top construction.

Alvarez also applies its ATR™ (Advanced Tonal Response) treatment to the solid top. Through oxygen-controlled thermo-kiln curing, the wood behaves more like a mature instrument from day one — offering improved stability, quicker response and enhanced clarity and separation between notes. It’s a noticeable difference, especially for players who appreciate articulation and balance.

The cutaway design provides comfortable access to upper frets, making this model suitable for melodic work as well as strong rhythm playing.
