Sometimes you just want to plug in the bass without firing up a rig big enough to rearrange the furniture. The Ashdown Studio Junior 15W Bass Combo is built for exactly that – a compact, lightweight practice amp delivering proper Ashdown character without taking over the room.

The Studio Junior pushes 15 watts through a custom 8" Ashdown speaker, giving you a punchy, articulate sound that's ideal for home practice, lessons, warming up or casual jam sessions. Ashdown has voiced the Studio range to deliver that familiar combination of warm lows and clear definition, so despite its modest dimensions, it still feels like a proper bass amp rather than a glorified desktop speaker.

Tone shaping couldn't be easier. You've got Volume plus a 3-band EQ with Bass, Middle and Treble controls, giving you enough flexibility to accommodate different basses and playing styles without turning practice into an exercise in knob-twiddling.

There's also a Line Input, so you can connect a phone, laptop or other audio source and practise along with songs and backing tracks. When everyone else has heard quite enough bass for one evening, the headphone output lets you carry on quietly.

Portability is another big part of the appeal. Ashdown uses lightweight ply and a lightweight speaker, keeping the Studio Junior around the 6kg mark, while heavy-duty tolex and chrome corners give it the classic Ashdown look and some welcome protection.
