There’s something deeply satisfying about a bass amp that just gets on with the job. The Ashdown Studio-8 Bass Combo Amp delivers 30 watts of classic Ashdown tone through a custom 8" speaker, wrapped up in a compact, lightweight combo that makes an ideal everyday practice partner.

Straight out of the box, the Studio-8 has that familiar warm yet articulate Ashdown character. A straightforward 3-band EQ gives you dedicated Bass, Middle and Treble controls, so it's easy to add some low-end weight, bring out the mids or sharpen things up depending on your bass and playing style.

Practice-friendly features are properly covered too. The Line Input lets you connect an external audio source for playing along with songs and backing tracks, while a dedicated Line Mix control balances that audio against your bass. When it's time to keep things quiet, plug into the headphone output and hit the Speaker Mute switch for late-night playing without waking half the street.

Portability is a major part of the Studio series, and Ashdown builds the Studio-8 from lightweight poplar ply rather than turning a little practice amp into something requiring a trolley. Heavy-duty tolex and chrome metal corners provide some reassurance when it inevitably starts travelling between bedrooms, lessons and rehearsal rooms.
