Ernie Ball Earthwood 2002 80/20 Bronze Medium Set 12 - 54
The Ernie Ball Earthwood 2002 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings (12–54) are a classic choice for players who want bright, lively acoustic tone with a balanced feel that works beautifully across strumming, flatpicking, and general acoustic playing. Part of the long-running Earthwood range, these strings have become a staple for guitarists who appreciate traditional acoustic sparkle and dependable performance.
Made with 80/20 bronze wrap wire around a hex-shaped steel core, the Earthwood 2002 set delivers a crisp top end, strong projection, and plenty of clarity. Chords ring out with definition and shimmer, while single-note lines retain excellent articulation and presence. If you enjoy an acoustic tone that feels open, energetic, and responsive, these strings absolutely deliver.
The medium-light 12–54 gauge strikes a versatile balance between comfort and fullness. There’s enough tension for solid rhythm playing and confident strumming, while still remaining flexible enough for expressive lead work and fingerstyle passages. They suit a huge range of acoustic guitars and playing styles, from singer-songwriter setups to folk, country, indie, and classic rock acoustics.
Ernie Ball’s precision manufacturing also ensures excellent consistency and tuning stability, helping your guitar stay reliable through rehearsals, recording sessions, and live performances alike. At Musicmaker, Earthwood strings remain a popular recommendation for players chasing that timeless bright bronze acoustic sound without overcomplicating things.
