Ernie Ball Earthwood 2004 80/20 Bronze Light Set
Ernie Ball Earthwood 2004 80/20 Bronze Light Set
Fresh acoustic strings can completely wake a guitar up, and the Ernie Ball Earthwood 2004 80/20 Bronze Light Acoustic Strings (.011–.052) are all about that crisp, ringing, lively acoustic sound. They're a classic choice for players who want plenty of sparkle and definition without the firmer feel of a heavier set.
The wound strings use 80/20 bronze – 80% copper and 20% zinc – wrapped around a hex-shaped steel core. That combination gives the Earthwoods their characteristically bright, articulate response, with plenty of pleasing overtones to bring chords and picked notes to life.
The Light .011–.052 gauge keeps things comfortable too. They're easier beneath the fingers than a typical .012 set, making them a cracking option for longer playing sessions, fingerpicking, strumming and players who like to throw the occasional bend into their acoustic playing.
Individual gauges are .011, .015, .022w, .030, .042 and .052, giving you a nicely balanced feel across all six strings. They're also uncoated, so if you're after that immediate, direct bronze-string response rather than the feel of a coated set, you're in the right place.
At Musicmaker, Earthwoods are exactly the sort of acoustic strings we love having within arm's reach: uncomplicated, affordable and capable of putting some serious life back into a guitar that's started sounding a little sleepy. New strings, cup of tea, suddenly you've lost the next two hours.
