Ernie Ball Ernesto Palla 2403 Nylon Clear & Silver Set
Ernie Ball Ernesto Palla 2403 Nylon Clear & Silver Set
If your classical guitar is starting to sound a little tired, a fresh set of nylon strings can be a surprisingly dramatic wake-up call. The Ernie Ball Ernesto Palla 2403 Clear & Silver Nylon Classical Guitar Strings deliver a smooth, rich and beautifully balanced response, with a comfortable Medium Tension feel that makes them a cracking everyday choice for classical and nylon-string players.
The treble strings are made from clear nylon monofilament, producing a clean, articulate voice with the warmth and softness you want from a nylon-string guitar. Down below, the three bass strings use silver-plated copper wrapped around a nylon multifilament core, adding richness, depth and definition without making the overall sound overly aggressive.
The Medium Tension setup strikes a lovely balance between playability and response. There's enough resistance beneath the fingers for confident classical technique and dynamic playing, while remaining comfortable for extended practice sessions, fingerstyle arrangements and general nylon-string noodling.
Individual gauges are .028, .032, .040, .030w, .036w and .042w, and this particular Clear & Silver version uses traditional tie-on ends rather than ball ends, making it suitable for conventional classical guitar bridges.
At Musicmaker, we'd call the Ernesto Palla 2403s a wonderfully straightforward classical set: comfortable under the fingers, warm without becoming muddy and articulate enough to let all those little fingerstyle details shine through. Fresh strings, fresh guitar – funny how often that works.
