Ernie Ball 2225 Extra Slinky Electric Strings (.008-.038)
The Ernie Ball 2225 Extra Slinky Electric Guitar Strings (.008–.038) are built for players who want maximum flexibility, effortless bends and lightning-fast playability. Favoured by shredders, lead guitarists and players with a light touch, this ultra-light gauge set makes it easier than ever to push your guitar to expressive limits.
With gauges of .008, .011, .014, .022w, .030, .038, Extra Slinkys are among the lightest electric strings available. The reduced tension allows for smoother vibrato, extreme bends and fast fretboard movement, making them ideal for high-energy lead playing and modern rock techniques.
Like all Ernie Ball electric strings, the wound strings are made from nickel-plated steel wrapped around a hex-shaped steel core, delivering a bright, balanced tone with excellent clarity and punch. The plain strings are crafted from specially tempered tin-plated high-carbon steel, ensuring durability and consistent performance.
Manufactured to exacting standards, Ernie Ball strings are known worldwide for their reliability and tone. The Element Shield packaging helps keep strings fresh by protecting them from moisture and environmental damage until you’re ready to restring.
At Musicmaker, Ernie Ball Slinkys are a staple for guitarists across Ireland, and the 2225 Extra Slinky set is a favourite for players who want effortless playability and expressive control.
