Evans G12 Coated White Drum Batter Head - 14"
Evans G12 Coated White Drum Batter Head - 14"
The Evans G12 Coated White Drum Batter Head – 14" is a brilliant choice for drummers who want extra durability and a full-bodied attack without sacrificing warmth or musical response. Designed as part of Evans’ popular G12 range, this head sits right between the openness of a single-ply head and the heavier control of a thicker two-ply design, making it incredibly versatile across a wide range of playing styles.
Constructed from a single ply of 12mil film, the G12 delivers a noticeably deeper and punchier tone than traditional thinner single-ply heads, while still retaining plenty of sensitivity and dynamic response. On a 14" snare or tom, it produces a rich, focused sound with strong attack, controlled sustain, and enough warmth to feel lively without becoming overly ringy.
The coated white finish adds a slightly softer, warmer tonal character while also providing excellent stick response and brush compatibility. Whether you’re playing rock, indie, blues, pop, punk, or heavier alternative styles, the G12 handles aggressive playing exceptionally well while still responding musically at lower dynamics.
One of the biggest strengths of the G12 is its durability. It’s built to withstand harder hitters and regular gigging without choking the drum’s natural tone, making it a favourite among players who need reliability alongside versatility.
At Musicmaker, the Evans G12 is a go-to recommendation for drummers looking for a batter head that feels open and responsive but with a little more weight, punch, and longevity than a standard single-ply option.
