Lag Guitars Sauvage Parlour Electro-Acoustic

Small-bodied acoustics have a habit of making you play differently. You sit a little closer, dig into the details and suddenly that quiet fingerpicked idea you've been kicking around becomes an entire song. The Lâg Guitars Sauvage Parlour Electro-Acoustic takes that intimate parlour experience and gives it the wonderfully untamed personality of the Sauvage series, complete with distinctive materials, stage-ready electronics and a padded gig bag.

The compact Parlour body is beautifully comfortable whether you're writing on the sofa, recording at home or playing an intimate live set. Its smaller dimensions naturally lend themselves to articulate fingerstyle work and controlled strumming, while Lâg's rounded back construction helps give the guitar a surprisingly rich, full-bodied voice. This may be the little Sauvage of the family, but it certainly isn't short on character.

And character is something this guitar has in abundance. The top is crafted from Pale BrankoWood, while the back and sides are made from Smoked Eucalyptus with the Sauvage series' unmistakable rough-sawn finish. Rather than sanding away every trace of the timber's personality, Lâg embraces that raw texture, creating a guitar that looks earthy, tactile and refreshingly different from the endless rows of high-gloss acoustics.

There's some clever thinking behind those materials too. BrankoWood is central to Lâg's more environmentally considered approach to guitar building, using a specialised treatment process to create stable instrument-grade material while reducing dependence on traditional precious timbers. The rough-sawn Eucalyptus construction also allows Lâg to simplify parts of the finishing process, reducing sanding and varnish requirements. It's sustainability being incorporated into the actual design of the instrument rather than treated as a marketing afterthought.

A Khaya neck is paired with a Black BrankoWood fingerboard, giving the Sauvage-PE a contemporary playing feel despite its old-school Parlour proportions. The 650mm scale length, 43mm nut width and 350mm fingerboard radius will feel reassuringly familiar to modern steel-string players, while 20 medium silver-nickel frets and a double-action truss rod keep the specification thoroughly practical.

When it's time to take that intimate acoustic sound onto a stage, the onboard StageLâg preamp gives you considerably more control than you might expect from such a compact guitar. Alongside Volume and 3-band EQ, you get Phase and Notch controls for tackling feedback and troublesome frequencies, plus an integrated tuner. That makes the Sauvage Parlour equally capable of plugging into an acoustic amplifier, PA system or recording setup.

Lâg even includes a padded gig bag, which feels particularly appropriate here. A comfortable Parlour guitar is exactly the sort of instrument you'll want beside you for writing sessions, weekends away, rehearsals and impromptu gigs, so having proper protection included from day one is a very welcome touch.

The Lâg Sauvage-PE Parlour Electro-Acoustic is compact without feeling compromised, rugged without being crude and unconventional without forgetting that, ultimately, a guitar needs to make you want to play. Pick it up for five minutes and there's a very real danger of losing the rest of the afternoon.
