Remo 13" Powerstroke 4 Coated
Remo 13" Powerstroke 4 Coated
The Remo 13" Powerstroke 4 Coated Drum Head is the sort of drum head that instantly gives your kit a bigger, tighter, more aggressive voice without sacrificing warmth or feel. Designed for drummers who want serious impact and controlled resonance, the Powerstroke 4 Coated has become a favourite for modern rock, metal, punk, gospel, and high-energy live playing where clarity and punch are absolutely essential.
Built with two plies of coated film and Remo’s integrated dampening system, this head delivers a thick, focused tone with shortened sustain and impressive attack. On a 13" tom or snare, it produces a powerful low-mid punch that feels tight and controlled while still retaining enough resonance to sound lively and musical rather than choked.
The coated finish gives the drum a warmer, slightly smoother character compared to clear heads, while also improving stick definition and feel. Rimshots feel solid and authoritative, ghost notes remain articulate, and tom strikes carry real weight without excessive ring getting in the way.
One of the reasons drummers gravitate towards the Powerstroke 4 Coated is how naturally it creates that polished modern drum sound with minimal effort. It’s especially effective for players who prefer deeper tunings and controlled sustain without relying heavily on gels, tape, or external dampening.
Whether you’re building a punchy touring kit, tightening up a lively drum shell, or simply looking for a head that can handle heavy playing while staying focused and musical, the Powerstroke 4 Coated delivers in a big way.
At Musicmaker, this is a superb choice for drummers wanting modern control, serious durability, and a fat, mix-friendly sound that works beautifully on stage and in the studio alike.
